chickens chicks My 7 year old really wants to hatch some chicks (and so do I), but we absolutely cannot keep a rooster in my neighborhood.I`m going to get 2 silkies and they will be a week old and I was wondering of I put them in with my two hens or keep them seperete for a while thanks[IMG]A chicken co-op is a group that either pools their buying power to receive better prices for chicks and feed (this may also be called a buying club), or works together to raise chickens for meat or eggs.I`ve seen a lot of threads asking what way is the best or what are some advantages for one over the other.. We started with a batch of mail order chicks and have had hen hatched chicks too.I am interesting in a particular breed of silkies but she only ships eggs..How long should i wait until i put my chicks outside with the big hens keeping in mind that it is going to be winter soon
